Program Structure and Flexibility
Can I work while I complete the program?
The M.Ed. in Educational Leadership (K-12) program was designed to be completed while you work.
What modality options are there for the M.Ed. in Educational Leadership program?
You may choose an online synchronous or hybrid format for your M.Ed. in Educational Leadership. The online option gives you the flexibility to complete all coursework entirely online. The hybrid format allows for flexibility in selecting course electives and offers a summer on-campus experience to interact with faculty and peers.
Principal Certification
Do I need to live in Pennsylvania to pursue the Principal Certification?
To enroll in the Principal Certification program, students must be enrolled in the hybrid format of this program and reside in the state of Pennsylvania and complete their Principal Certification coursework on campus. We recommend that students located in other states review their state’s Principal Certification requirements.
If I am enrolled as an online student, may I enroll in the Principal Certification coursework?
Yes. You may enroll in the Principal Certification coursework, but it must be taken in person.
Cost and Financial Aid
How much does this program cost?
The M.Ed. in Educational Leadership (K-12) is a competitively priced degree, with tuition and fees that are 25% more affordable on average than comparable programs. Do you offer financial aid?
Yes. Financial aid is available for all graduate students — regardless of whether they study part time or full time, online or on campus. Students are encouraged to request federal and state financial aid by completing their FAFSA.
Students who hold a Pennsylvania teaching certification through the Pennsylvania Department of Education receive a 15% tuition discount. Lehigh University employees and their family members receive 100% tuition remission.

Admissions and Eligibility
What are the admission requirements?
Applicants must submit a completed online application, official transcripts with a minimum 3.0 GPA, a resume and a personal statement. No GRE or letters of recommendation are required for this program. Additional details and deadlines can be found on our admissions page.
Can international students enroll in this program?
We welcome international students! However, this program cannot provide visa sponsorship. International applicants must already be eligible to study in the United States.
